Speedo Tuesday

Speedo Tuesday — Episode Two: The Corridor Call

The morning began before the sun had fully claimed the sky. The brick walls of the bedroom held the coolness of night, and the wooden floors carried the familiar weight of routine. The two men stood at their bedsides in full inspection stance — blue tank tops fitted, speedos aligned, posture exact.

Today, however, the ritual shifted.

A firm knock sounded at the open doorway.

The elder stepped inside, his presence steady and unhurried. He scanned the room once, then gave a single nod.

“Inspection complete. Both of you — to the corridor.”

The men exchanged a brief, disciplined glance. Not excitement. Not anxiety. Just readiness.

They moved in unison toward the hallway, where the lanterns burned with their warm amber glow. Outside, a line of other men stood already in formation — each in the same blue uniform, each barefoot on the polished wooden floor, each waiting for the day’s directive.

The two men took their place at the end of the line.

The elder walked the length of the corridor, hands behind his back, eyes sharp but calm. He paused at each man, checking posture, breath, and uniform. When he reached the two from the bedroom, he stopped longer than usual — not in disapproval, but in acknowledgment.

“You begin the day with order,” he said quietly. “Carry it with you.”

The line straightened even more.

A bell sounded from deeper within the building — low, resonant, unmistakable.

Speedo Tuesday had officially begun.

The men stepped forward as one.
