The beach is a great place to work out, with all that fresh air and open space. 

But when you should be doing other things, it's not a good idea.

 So Ryatt is bent over there and then on the beach for a caning. 

The strokes are hard, 

as at one point he has to rush off to the sea to cool his butt down.
